    What Is DAZN?

DAZN describes itself as the leading global sports entertainment platform. The Polymarket Partnership

On January 20, 2026, DAZN announced it had signed a deal with Polymarket to bring prediction trading to its platform. The partnership has two components:

    1. Near-term — Broadcast integration: Polymarket probability data is integrated into DAZN's live sports broadcast experience. This gives sports fans instant visibility into shifting probabilities during events — helping them track momentum, understand potential outcomes, and engage with sports in a new, data-driven way.
    2. Longer-term — Prediction trading for U.S. users: Following the agreement, DAZN said it would apply for the relevant CFTC licenses and, subject to approval, intends to introduce predictions trading in the United States "in the coming months." Other countries may follow, subject to local regulation.

“Every sporting event is a conversation about what happens next. Polymarket turns that conversation into real-time probabilities, shaped by millions of users around the world. Through our first-of-its-kind partnership with DAZN, we're embedding those insights directly into the viewing experience.”

    — Shayne Coplan, Founder and CEO of Polymarket

“DAZN is laser-focused on bringing fans closer to the sports they love. Through our partnership with Polymarket — the world's largest prediction market — we will offer another immersive and exciting way for fans to experience sport.”

How It Works: From Viewing to Trading

The partnership rolls out in two distinct phases — one already live, one contingent on CFTC approval:

Phase 1 — Live (Broadcast Data)

Polymarket market probabilities are embedded directly into DAZN's live sports broadcasts. During a boxing match or Champions League game, viewers see real-time crowd-sourced probabilities updating as the event unfolds — who's winning, what's the likelihood of an upset, what happens next. No trading account required for this phase.

Phase 2 — Planned (Prediction Trading)

Once DAZN obtains CFTC FCM registration, it plans to allow DAZN users to actually trade prediction contracts — buying and selling event contract positions on sports, politics, and other outcomes directly within DAZN's platform. This requires FCM approval and has no confirmed launch date as of April 2026.

    Regulatory Status

DAZN — NFA IB Application Filed Apr 21, 2026 (Sports Marketing 1 LLC); FCM Plans Unchanged

Per NFA BASIC's public membership records, Sports Marketing 1 LLC — the DAZN-affiliated entity filed in the UK — submitted an NFA Introducing Broker (IB) membership application dated April 21, 2026. An IB registration allows a firm to solicit and accept orders for event contracts on behalf of customers and route them to a regulated exchange. This is the application step; NFA approval is a separate subsequent event. A Futures Commission Merchant (FCM) is the higher-tier license required to hold customer funds directly; DAZN's January 20, 2026 announcement referenced FCM plans, and the IB filing does not supersede that. Verify current status at NFA BASIC and CFTC.gov before trading.

    Polymarket (QCX) — CFTC-Designated DCM + DCO (July 2025)

The exchange infrastructure behind DAZN's planned trading product is Polymarket's QCX entity — a CFTC-designated contract market and derivatives clearing organization. QCX was designated in July 2025 and acquired by Polymarket in July 2025.

What this means for users: The broadcast data integration requires no regulatory approval — it's informational content embedded in the stream. Actual trading (buying/selling event contracts) requires DAZN to first obtain FCM or IB registration from the CFTC/NFA. Until then, DAZN users cannot trade prediction contracts within the DAZN platform, though they can access Polymarket directly.

    Global Scope

The DAZN/Polymarket press release notes that "Other countries may follow, subject to local regulation." DAZN operates globally and its primary initial focus was the U.S. market — but the company clearly signaled that international prediction trading could follow as regulatory frameworks develop in other jurisdictions.

The broadcast data integration is not region-restricted and represents the first and most immediate impact of the partnership for global DAZN viewers. Anyone watching a DAZN stream can see Polymarket's live probability data integrated into the experience.

    Stack at a Glance: DAZN's Triple-Leg Prediction-Market Structure

Three separate but related moves across 2026 define DAZN's posture in the prediction-market space. Each has its own primary source, its own regulatory frame, and its own scope:

    LegDateStructurePrimary source
    1. Polymarket data embedJan 20, 2026Operational partner (broadcast data integration + CFTC-intent)DAZN press release
    2. ADI Predictstreet FIFA integrationApr 13, 2026Multi-event product partnership (FIFA World Cup 2026)GlobeNewswire — primary-source URL pending
    3. Sports Marketing 1 LLC NFA IB filingApr 21, 2026Own-IB membership application (under NFA review)NFA BASIC — profile URL pending

Why three legs matter: Leg 1 is a distribution / data integration on Polymarket's DCM. Leg 2 is an event-specific product partnership via ADI. Leg 3 is DAZN's own-IB route — if approved, DAZN could route customer orders itself rather than rely solely on Polymarket's infrastructure for onboarding. The three legs compound; they do not substitute for each other. See also our institutional-data-distribution map.
